So Flo Floods STEAM Competition

We are actively pursuing several ways to use our documentary, So Flo Floods, to its fullest and one of those is the So Flo Floods STEAM Competition for Miami Beach Senior High where students are participating in the creation of potential touring museum exhibits to complement the film.

This particular competition relates to the science in the film which we are preparing with Professor Harold Wanless at UM. We are planning additional competitions regarding other aspects of the film, including the history side of things with Dr. Paul George.

We are hopeful students can engage the film’s content and imagine career possibilities and educational options and discuss with experts, teachers, and themselves.

TheoEco is focused on the economic and ecological entanglements people and regions find themselves in. Miami Beach Senior High students over the last several years have been--and are--engaged in such an entanglement like nowhere else on the planet. So, they have a unique appreciation for the opportunities and challenges life in South Florida holds.

TheoEco and Beach High are new partners through our mutual relationship with the Council for Educational Change Executive Pass Program (changeeducation.org) which brings together schools and businesses to work together for schools.
