Meet us in Kathmandu anytime after May 15, 2019. Total trek will add two days of travel before and after for a total trip day count.
Flight arrangements are on the individual, though we can help and potentially arrange travel partners.

PRICE

The trek costs $995 per week and includes:

Lodging – Garima Nepal’s Homestay apartments in Lalitpur (Kathmandu Valley) will be the primary hosts. Nearby additional guest houses will be used as needed.
Meals (3 per day) – All meals are provided including nightly dinners at many of the area’s best restaurants. Kathmandu and Pokhara have some excellent offerings with great food, service, and ambiance. We will enjoy Japanese, Italian, American, Thai, Indian, Pizza, Spanish (Tapas), and other cuisines. Oh, and of course Nepali!
Nepali Cell Phone – To stay in touch all tour participants will receive their own prepaid Nepali cell phone.
Transportation in Nepal – We will meet all participants at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival and arrange transportation for lodging and meals.

FAQ'S

Do they have broadband and/or cell phones in Nepal?
There is broadband and cell phone coverage throughout the country.

Do you need a visa?
Visas are needed but can be acquired upon arrival in Kathmandu and are included in the trek's price.

What vaccinations are needed?
For most American travelers, the only shots that will be needed are for Hepatitis A and Typhoid, in addition to your routine vaccines. Precautions for Malaria are important in mosquito-infested regions, but these regions mostly lie in the southern belt of Nepal (the Terai), which we do not plan on visiting. There is less risk of Malaria in Kathmandu, Pokhara, or most of the Himalayan trekking regions.

Is it expensive in Nepal?
Nepal is surprisingly inexpensive to visit. And Nepal’s economy benefits from tourism, so our dollars are welcome.

Do I need to be in good shape?
Not necessarily, though physical conditioning is a consideration for some excursions.

What is the predominant language?
Nepali is the primary language spoken throughout Nepal though Nepal is relatively easy for English speakers. All guides speak English, as do most service workers in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

What is the predominant religion?
Hinduism is the predominant religion, followed by Buddhism. Christianity is practiced by less than 2% of the population but is growing.

What is it like in Nepal?
As one of the world's poorest nations Nepal will challenge you, and it will make you see the world a bit differently–maybe a lot differently. It will shock your sensitivities and sensibilities ever so much, but likely nothing you can’t handle. Just walking around, or eating, or interacting–all will take a bit of getting used to. And as you do you will adjust and begin to get used to a different way of doing things, a different way of seeing things, which you will keep with you the rest of your life, along with a treasure trove of stories, pictures, and memories you will have–forever. And if you are like most, you will be looking forward to the next trip back.
