BACK TO BUCHA
Coming April 2023
Finding the Spirit in Ukraine.
Like the USA Ukraine is a largely Christian nation (Ukrainian Orthodox mostly with a large segment of Ukrainian Greek Catholics), though all the major religions are represented (President Zelensky is Jewish, for instance). Unlike the USA there are relatively few Protestants, and Back to Bucha features a Charismatic church forced online by the war, a Lutheran church with a lady pastor in Kyiv, even a Presbyterian minister from Dallas leading a Reformed congregation in Lviv. Steve Richards' 2nd visit to Ukraine began in January and February 2023, coincided with the one-year mark of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and were highlighted by screenings of Trek to Bucha shot in March and April 2022. What was most striking since his first visit in Spring 2022 are the women and moms he encountered talking about God and how He is looking out for them. The ladies are back. Why? Because they want to raise their kids in their own homes in their own country. For more click here. |

Finding the Spirit in Ukraine - From a Coffee Shop to a Church to a Bistro to a Cathedral.
I’ve visited a 1,000-year-old Orthodox monastery, a Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, and the most infamous building in Ukraine – St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church in Bucha. I even found a German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kyiv. For more click here.

You might think this is a story and video about a Kindergarten anywhere in the USA. Until you get to the bomb shelter.
In Ukraine no one has a normal life. What is normal? A mother’s instinct to raise her children in her home, in safety and in school. For more click here.
